Hi Catullus,

Just to say I think this is an excellent idea; especially in light of the debate elsewhere on the site this evening.

I'll get this done over the next couple of days and am open to suggestions on reviewing content and balance once it is posted.

Wouldn't it be good if a representative of CCCS or Payplan could also post to balance the comment?

Yes,what I was told after 2 months was "we've had another look at your case & think that an IVA is worth trying....so we'll keep the next £400 you pay to go into your IVA fund"....oh well, you live and learn!!!!
As it seems that there is little chance of getting an IVA past Northern Rock, what realistically are my options now>>>

Regards,
Steve

Hi
You have a couple of options
1] Stick with the DMP
2] Ask the IP to propose the IVA but state that you will only start paying into it once it is accepted. They will probably refuse and that will give you a true indication of how realistic it was

Thanks Andie.
The trouble with the DMP is that the interest on the credit cards being added every month is much more than I'm paying....so the debts are still rising!!
Has anyone EVER got an IVA agreed by Northern Rock??

Steve

Northern Rock do have a tough policy with regard to accepting IVA's, but out of all of the various lenders we deal with they are perhaps the most thorough of reviewers in my experience, and read each individual proposal carefully before deciding whether to accept or reject.

Yes - I have many cases in my portfolio where Northern Rock have accepted IVAs, and I am told that they are now looking favourably at about 25% of the proposals submitted to them.
