Lily - that link to OFT doesn't work anymore.

Lili i applaud you for that fine piece of writing and i hope that many gain comfort from it knowing that they can't be harrassed by people who have no idea about what that person is going through and that they do have rights regardless of being indebt.

Good luck to each and every one of you on here and lets continue with the great support this site offers.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

I had a look to see if I could see where it had gone, but couldn't find it anywhere.

Why don't they leave these useful pieces of information where they are!

Hi all, especially to Fifi, Kallis, Abi, Free Lily, Vicki and Fergie. Thank you so much for all your support tonight, Lily luv the link on dealing with phone calls, makes me feel so much better and as Fifi said gun ho!!! This site is so much of a comfort to me, so glad I found it and feel I'm making some friends. Bit of good news, my new bank details arrived today from Nat West (they have taken absolutely ages though!) so now we feel more in control, tomorrow I will take pleasure in setting up all my new direct debits. Its been a harrowing couple of weeks, as my monthly salary goes into the bank on the 15th, I had to give my employer my mother in laws details rather than let it go to my old bank and be swallowed up. My husband and I haven't told any family we would prefer to keep it to ourselves and not worry them, so .... I explained to mum in law that we weren't happy with the service from our current bank. I then had to take her to the cashpoint, (she's elderly and doesn't use telephone/on line banking) just to check my salary was there ok, and then she wrote me a cheque which I had to pay into my daughters savings account, what a saga of events - has anyone been in the same predicament? When hubby rang today and told me the Nat West details had arrived I was so relieved. After tomorrow when all the direct debits are set up again (mortgage included!) it will be one less thing to worry about. Fergie and Fifi, keep posting to me - are you both with Melanie, I'm sure we can provide so much support to each other. Luv liz.

Hey Liz, getting a new bank account is such a relief isn't it. I had to swap twice as I made the mistake of opening an account with HSBC who don't like people in IVAs so I swapped again to Co-op. It took ages to set up the new direct debits but in the end, I felt in control of my money, well, there wasn't much money, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Good luck for your proposal. X
