Hi lisa and welcome to the forum

Your IP will no doubt be able to start the process as you have now sent all of the information off to them. They should write to your creditors straight away and inform them of their instructions, but sadly this does not seem to stop the ongoing correspondence and telephone calls from creditors. Ask your IP how long they think the process will take, which should be no longer than 4 - 6 weeks from the time they receive your documents.

Hi lisa and welcome

Please dont be scared you are doing something about your debts and thats the main thing. Just take one thing at a time. The company are being paid to take this from you now. The main problem right now is the hassle from creditors. They are made by people who get a commision by stressing you into making a payment. Please dont let them get you down, explain what you are doing, give them the name of your IP and hang up. They will feed on your shame and fear and make you feel horrilbe, but they are being paid for this and its not personal. Dont be ashamed now because we are all in the boat with you and know what its like to get these calls and letters. It does put you on a downer if you let it.

You should get a creditors meeting arranged soon, are you happy with the company? If you begin to make payments to DFD, they will not hurry so make sure you only start paying on the date or after the creditors meeting. Ask yourself if you are happy with the monthly allowance for yourself and family? Its so easy when youre desperate and scared to grab a 'solution' with out thinking or knowing what its all about. You do have time, although the creditors scream and shout they cannot do anything more for a real long time yet. My advise would be to take the time and make sure you understand the ins and outs and find out something about the company who will be working with you for 5 years.

I am not a financial expert, just another person who is in debt and trying to find a way out.

You are not alone Lisa we have all felt as you do and we are here to support you through this, keep asking and keep posting.

Good luck
