Dee - no it hasn't been approved until the creditors approve it in the meeting. The fees you are paying now maybe set up fees. A lot of companies do not charge anything until the IVA has actually been approved. Don't worry though, you need to get the date of your creditors meeting from the IVA company you are using. You can pass this onto the creditors who keep calling and still send the letters onto the IVA company.

I know its stressful but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Dee - the payments you are making are just for the company to set up the creditors meeting, these payments are not part of the IVA You will get a phonecall on the 29th so say if its been approved. Have you had a copy of the proposal? Companies do not normally put an IVA forward if they think it will be rejected and any monies you've paid should be refundable if the IVA is rejected.

dee, you need to be 100% sure that ALL of your creditors have now been added to the proposal or it will just be a recipie for disaster.

May we ask who your creditors are and how much in the pound are you offering to pay back?

Dee, keep asking questions and try and post as much info as you can as it seems to me that the IVA hasn't been explained properly to you. I would hate for you to enter into an agreement that you weren't 100% happy with. X

First of all welcome along to the forum.

I haven't heard anyone say before that they are kind of in an IVA, are you sure that you are not on a DMP instead? You need to check that first as no IP would leave creditors out of an IVA proposal if they should be in it.

Regards.

Hi when my Iva was being approved I had the phone calls....So I pulled the phone out of its socket! This will allow people to call you but you wont here it ringing and tell important friends ect to call you on your mobile?? Or arrange when you will pick up after a coded ring say three rings...might help just for the short term.
Or just pick up the phone and tell them you re in the process of an IVA you cannot make any payements and you are now putting the phone down and do it...put a small card by the phone with this written on and just say that! Be confident of your choice....these people who ring have scripts and lots do not understnd IVA's[:I] It might seem personal but its not promise!!

Dee, I completely understand. It's all scary and if you're anything like me, feel sick when the phone rings. Don't forget, these people who are calling you are on commission so they don't really care, they are just doing their job and ringing everyone on the list they have been given. It won't make any difference if you decide not to answer. You're in the right place here for support.[:)] X

Sounds a bit iffy Dee, there is no excuse for that. I hope it goes well for you, you poor thing. Try not to stress too much, I know that's easier said than done but hopefully it'll be approved and you can look forward, it will be the fresh start that you need.[;)] X
