I had my IVA acceped on 13th August with the debt people. I was with a DMP before this. I have had letter from them asking were my payments are and aslo started to get letter from creditors saying payments missing and they have started charging Intrest again. Should I be worried that the debt people have not informed creditors and my DMP. Or is this normal.
Need to know if i should start to PANIC!!!!!!!!!
Hey nat2673, As you are in an IVA now you are protected from creditors. They cannot add interest and charges and the letters will stop eventually. Send any correspondance to your IP who will deal with this for you. Were all your creditors listed on your proposal? I presume they were as you were already in a DMP, so don't worry, they are all bound by the IVA. X
Hi Nat
Welcome to the forum. DONT PANIC as jons'y would say on Dads Army.
You are protected by your iva, best thing to do is to forward theses letters to your supervisor and ask them to confirm they have been informed.
Creditors frequently dont have good departmental communication and it can take a while for the message to get through.
Stop worrying.
we are alsowith the debt people. we have now paid our 3rd payment and get the odd phone call from creditors. i always phone them and they say not to worry as it always takes a while for the information to filter through to the right dept and they will sort it out, we ont usually her from that creitor again, so dont panic just let the debt people know about it.
My IVA was approved on the 25 August and I am still getting the odd letter. Our IP has been faxing over copies of the paper work to the 'offenders' and put our minds at rest by telling us to ignore them.
This seems to been an ongoing problem and is a matter I will take up with creditors representatives when the next meeting of the Standing Committee of the IVA Protocol is held in November.
