Hi ele

So your combined debts are £119,000, and you have a disposable income of approximately £600. This would enable you to offer £36,000 to creditors over a 5 year period, which after costs would give a dividend return of 23.5p in the £. Most creditors operate to a minimum of 25p in the £, so if you were to increase your payments slightly to £630 IVA's could possibly be accepted.

Do you owe anything to HSBC or Northern Rock, as these creditors have higher minimum dividend expectations. If so, can you post me a full list of your creditors so that I can advise further - and identify which are yours and which are your husbands.

Hi ele

Well I would certainly be happy to present that for you, and debt management would take many years for you to repay and is not the right solution for you given your ages.

As you say that you really want to avoid bankruptcy proceedings, I would give the IVA a go. You have nothing to lose and most reputable insolvency practitioners will present this for you without taking any money up front.

Ele

You need to find an insolvency practitioner to act for you, and then allow them to gather up more specific details about your case. This can be done over the telephone and via e-mail initially.

The process ought to take no longer than a month, but do ensure that you gather up all of the information you are asked to produce and get that to the IP as soon as possible.

Hi Ele

I would be delighted to represent you. If you can fill out the forms on my website, one of my team will make contact with you tomorrow and we can start the ball rolling.

I do not need to meet you face to face if you would rather do everything over the telephone, but we will need to have a detailed chat so that I can ensure that you are fully appraised of all options available to you and the implications of entering into a voluntary arrangement. I look forward to talking to you in due cousre.
