Evening all,
I recieved all my attachments today from Melaies team and obviously I want to get cracking asap, but I am unable to open any of them!
It keeps saying something like `adobe files not supported or attachments damaged whilst being sent'. I have the latest Adobe V8 installed. I dont think they were damaged whilst being sent, I think its my laptop as I'm not the most technically minded person!
Can anyone help?
I tried the help pages of Adobe but they are double-dutch to me.
Advised Melanies team a few moments ago, but its the holiday weekend, so it wont get read until tuesday.
TIA
Karen

"adobe reader was unable to open 'xxxxxxxxxx' because it is either not a supported file type or the because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and didnt correctly decode)"

Thats what it says. Thanks for help by the way. It goes to my hotmail address, but I'll try sending it to an alternate addy and see what happens.

3 days late in paying NR (1st time ever, loan has £900 left on it) and have recieved FOUR letters already!!!!!

The usual reason you would get that kind of error is if the attachment file extension e.g. what the file name ends in is not supported by adobe but has somehow become associated with it.

For example a .DOC .XLS or .JPG file cannot be opened by adobe reader, but your computer thinks it can open the document with adobe.

If your file ends in a .PDF then I don't really know.

Sounds like a setting on your computer though. Should work OK if you use a different computer. Does the filename end in .PDF or something else?
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Hi Kaz, are you ok? Sorry to hear you've been having problems opening your docs, how frustrating! Have you decided on your route yet? Kazzy x

Have you tried selecting which app to use when opening it? If you right mouse click, then 'open with' it should give you a list of applications that you can use. Might not work but is worth a try
