it may well be so long as the bank you have the account with is not one of your creditors - if they are eg. on a credit card or such - then you would have to open an account with another bank

You could have a problem if the account is with HSBC or First Direct as they have a policy of checking the Insolvency Register for people in IVAs and then closing their accounts.

Yeah Skip - we are with HSBC at mo but we have opened a Coop Cashminder for if and when HSBC spot us on the register!

Will use Coop as saver account until then but at least we have it ready for if and when we need it [:)]

Not heard anything bad about them so as long as you don't owe them anything in your list of creditors then you may well be ok but then I am not an expert so can't be 100%

You should be ok with Nationwide - I know they don't open accounts for people who are bankrupt any more, but I haven't heard of anyone in an IVA having any problems, especially as you already have the account.

now if only you could have done that a few hours earlier - all this IVA talk would be unnecessary and I would happily have dug a few of you out of the mess as well! Honest, I would.
Help, please!
