Hi all sorry I haven't posted for a while. Can't believe we got through our first Christmas ever without using a credit card!!

I have a quick question regarding BR. Back in Nov/Dec my partner was told by OR that we would have a IPO of 400.00 per month and also that his tax would be a nil tax code. We spoke to OR and stated there was no way we could afford the 400.00 per month and they sent us a I&E form, which we promptly filled in and posted back with a DI of 150.00. Anyway, we have not heard anything more back from the OR rergarding this IPO and also my partner is still paying tax in his wages. The question I have is;- is there a time limit for the OR to put these 2 things into place or can it happen at anytime?

Thanks for your help [:)]

Hi Kazza, nice to see you.

Glad you had a good Christmas without resorting to credit - it's a brilliant feeling.

As regards the tax, you may find that as it approaches the end of the tax year, HMRC won't alter anything to a nil tax code so you should be ok with that.

Hopefully they will accept your DI and sort out a lesser IPA if needs be.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tax code. I believe that if you haven't got an IPA in place before you are discharged, then that is it, they can't impose one afterwards.

Let's hope they get your IPA right this time.

Kallis is right - the zero tax code can only apply during the fiscal year in which you are made bankrupt - so no news is good news on that front.

I would not chase the OR. It is down to them to deal with this matter, and I suspect that they are short staffed at the moment with the vast amount of bankruptcy applications going through.
