Hi am new to the forum, both my wife and I have been in IVAs for 4 years now with a god awful company called Money Debt and Credit, I have a ton of questions to ask as I believ we have both been treated appallingly by this company, however I will start with a simple one. Can my supervisor be changed at the drop of a hat without any notification, I was under the impression the supervisor was court appointed am I wrong?
Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm not 100% on the answer to your question so we'll keep this bumped up for someone who does know. Do ask your questions as we do have very knowledgeable posters.
Do you just have the year to go before IVA conclusion? If so almost there and well done on coming this far. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
It will be nigh on impossible to change IP I am afraid. Usually this only happens when the IP ceases business, dies or is grossly negligent ( which would be a court case in itself).

Firstly welcome to the forum. My understanding is you are allocated a superviser at the outset of your IVA however if necessary the company can impose a change if that person was to leave the firm etc or swap jobs. At te end of te day it should bot matter who the superviser is as your proposal and chairmans report stipulate how your IVA will run in it's duration.

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
I too am very new to all this but i don't think a court appoints anyone with an IVA as you go throu the company yourself. But obviuosly there will be someone at that company who is your named IP. It may be that the case administrator changes, or that they are such a big company that they are moving you round pillar to post.
But as Lulu said the proposal will have it all laid out, not sure what else tosuggest, sorry.
Hi, welcome I can't answer your question but try 'Live Help' on this page, it's a live chat with an expert. It's very good, whenever I had questions I went on there and within a few minutes I had all the answers good luck!
HI and welcome. Congrats on getting to four years! I know your supervisor can be changed but I'm not sure about the notification requirements (though courtesy would suggest a letter was in order).
Why don't you try a few more questions out on us while we wait for an expert to answer this one! xx
Hi & welcome to the forum from me too.
I'm with a different Iva company & both IPs (joint supervisors) changed last year. We did get a letter informing us that they had & it had gone through officially through the courts. Don't know if that helps you in anyway.
I agree with broke of london, please ask away with the questions.

Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X
An IVA.co.uk Mentor is someone sharing from their experiences of dealing with debt
I tried MDC initially and have to say that I wasn't impressed with them. They told me to sell my car and that I had to go bankrupt.
IPs can change, if they leave the company for example. The company will remain the same though unless they go bump when they will be taken over by another one.

I always understood its the IP that has the legal powers and responsibility to the creditors etc.
The supervisior in the company( i guess the person who's always on the end of the phone) just does the day to day things.
I would say the Buck stops with the IP.
If your not happy with the supervisors advice or attitude than me thinks you have to go directly to the IP.Sometimes the supervisor might suggest something your not happy with, than i think it would be a good idea to speak to the IP(even if you have to wait a day or two to get the answer from them! to just clarify what they are telling you.
Not everybody can get everything right all of the time i guess.
As I read it the Supervisor (with a capital "S" ) is the IP named in your proposal. The case is usually administered by a supervisor ( if you are lucky)(with a small "s"), a case officer or 100 and 1 office workers (if not so lucky). The administrators can, and do, change with alarming regularity in some firms. The IP is where the buck does, indeed, stop, and who takes ultimate responsibilty and is an individual named in the proposal.

Is your enquiry relating to a desire to replace the IP acting for you, or that you have been notified of an impending change which you are not happy about?
Thanks for all your posts, Melanie, I was enquiring because our IP has been changed and we were not given any form of notification before it happened or any reason as to why and I wondered whether this could just happen or is there some sort of legal procedure that should have taken place
If your original IP leaves the company then obviously it will change, no idea about how things happen though.
