hmm, interesting pattern here.. I too am with CCCS, and it seems I would have been better off with an IVA from day 1. My DMP will take about 14 years, even with all interest suspended.
I really don't want to knock them too much, but my impression is that they tend to use a bit of a "one size fits all approach". I could tell from the phone calls I've made that the operator was using a decision tree on a computer screen.

I, really glad I've found this site though, I've recieved some great advice and support already.

We originally wanted an IVA 18 months ago, and were told that we didn't have enough disposable income, so we went DMP.

In Feb/March this year, we phoned Payplan to see if we could swap our DMP over to them so that all of our payments could go to our creditors rather than pay a fee (Payplan don't charge). They immeditely said we qualified for an IVA and in April we were accepted.

We are now paying less for our IVA than our DMP and we will be debt free in 5 years rather than the 19 years it was going to take.
