Skippy makes a good point - I too wish I had done something earlier, but I spent about 18 months desperately trying to get myself out of the mess I was in, switching things around but not getting anywhere. The best thing that could have happened to me was the credit crunch, as the card companies started slashing my available credit once I have moved the balance away from them, and eventually I had nowhere left to transfer balances to in an attempt to avoid making a monthly payment. I spent a long time paying money to creditors I couldnt afford because I couldnt face up to the mess I was in, and in the end had to admit that I was beaten, so made the call to Melanies team. I really wish now that I had made that call a lot sooner as now I would nearly be past the 6 year point where the IVA drops off my credit files and I can start rebuilding my way to a normal financial history again. Speak to a few people and go with who you feel most comfortable with, you wont regret it - it sounds harsh, but from what you have said, you are only delaying the inevitable by prolonging it, as I did! Good luck.
