Well done Minime
You have taken the first and most difficult step and now that you have shared it with your husband you can look forward to resolving it together.

Thanks

I'm glad you spoke to your Hubby and he certainly sounds fab! [:)]

You're in safe hands with Melanie and her team. As for the phonecalls, some have loads, others don't seem to get any. Lloyds were a pain in the bum for us...so I use to unplug the phone ( especially on a Sunday morning). If you do get calls, they'll soon pass and post on here for support.

Good luck xx

That's brilliant news! I thought you would get that great reaction, and it just goes to show how wonderful hubbies are (most of the time!)

Me and you both minime. Most of our debt is in my name but at the end of the day ours is family debt, my hubby was disinclined to listen to me at first about IVA but he did eventually and realised that something had to be done! He is 100% behind it now. xxx
7 year IVA completed in December 2016 - there is light at the end of that tunnel

Ours was joint debt mostly, although the loans were usually initiated by me. Once hubby found out how deep we were in dept it caused a few problems, but we came through it and are much better now.

I can remember the day I discovered how much debt hubby had.......I was totally in the dark and stunned. He didn't even know how much he owed.

It was a tense evening going through all the bills etc...but it wasn't the end of the world.

Mine had no idea how much we owed - I do the finances and just kept telling him that everything was ok. Very stressful for me trying to keep afloat and keep him in the dark.

Once it came out we sat down and sorted it out. No more secrets and though I still do the finances, I don't hide anything from him at all.

I felt much better as well.
