Hi, I am in closure stages of my IVA, my IP is now saying that I have to go through a PPI claim to see if i am owed any PPI compensation and if i am it needs to be paid to the creditors, I challenged this as it is not specifically referenced in the contract when i took on the IVA, they have said compensation and unfair interest claims are assets at the time of taking the agreement , they feel it reasonable to include as they weren't specifically excluded. they also state even if that was not correct then the non disclosure or omission of such claims could constitute a breach in the agreement. what is also concerning is they are outsourcing the claim on my behalf to a 3rd part that will take 39% of any compensation. is there anything i can do ?

Hi - Try searching the forum and you will see there are many in the position you describe and there is not a lot you can do to resist the PPI claim. There has been some movement in terms of speeding up the process with some firms but you can expect a significant delay to closure. Sorry

This is a standard approach these days and 99.9% of closures have to go through it. I would agree to it so that the closure action is not held up further.
