Recovering, to be honest the Cashminder account will do everything you need of it.

You don't need one if you are happy with the cashminder you have. Some posters have more than one and they use the other as a bit of a savings account to put contingency and other allowances in and any savings you might have at the end of the month.

You would be fine opening another cashminder account. At least you'd know exactly how much money you had put aside and you wouldn't have to bother your friend if you needed any.

hi,you're doing well & coping with a lot of stress.

we got a CO OP basic bank account - cash minder. it is basic, but you have on line banking, can do all your banking on line, set up direct debits, money transfers on line too.

we would recommend it to anyone. they have customer service tel. open 24hrs a day too so you can ring them over the weekend. you can use the post office as a branch to withdraw/pay in too.

being scared is understandable,we've all been at the point you're at. you WILL get there.

get the bank account sorted,it's important & you'll feel better once it's done.
You are not alone, post as often as you need.

Don't apologise recovering. We all have good and bad days. We opened an ISA with the Co-op as well as the cashminder. I shift what I think will be spare into the ISA and more often than not shift most of it back again towards the end of the month! It is handy having 2 accounts. If you want to open a savings account with them you can do it on-line (before your IVA) as they are a bit reluctant to open savings accounts when in an IVA. So if you get 30 mins when you feel able to you could just do on-line without having to ring anyone (I don't like talking to anyone when I am having a down spell).
Chin up - you're doing the right thing!

Don't worry - just take a deep breath and think about what you want. Another account is good if you want to save money and be able to access it at anytime.

Co-op won't do savings accounts once you are in an IVA. Don't know about any other banks.

They may well let you open one so give it a try.

Don't recommend the mattress though!!

I opened a savings account online with Yorkshire Building Society (not Yorkshire Bank). Took a couple of minutes.
