I totally echo Lesley's words.

We've all been there, you do wonder if it's right but once you're approved the feeling of relief is immense and you can then get on with your life with no financial worries.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

The other thing to do is realise what you are feeling is natural. It is in a good persons nature to feel bad about owing money and the path you are taking goes against that. You feel bad because you are not paying when you should be. The fact is they are going to be better off getting some money from you than none at all and they can wait. Lots of people leave their bills until they get a red one anyway. Dont worry you are not breaking any laws and have begun to address a situation which cannot go on. Well done and be proud of yourself that you have made a brave decision.

Also you dont know these people who are hassling you, think about yourself and your personal and mental well being,,,,,you have beaten yourself up for long enough about debt,,,soon you wont have to worry anymore.

Chin up. It will be fine.

hi Recovering, the emotional side of all this is huge,it's impact on your health - mental too can lead to allsorts of problems,Kev59 touched on feeling suicidal, glad to see you got through that Kev59.

it takes real courage to face that you need help-well done! we couldn't have gone on the way we were.

it might help you to confide in a close friend or family, choose carefully though as you're vulnerable at the moment. you'll get lots of support here[:)]

by the time we're looking at a IVA things are usually quite serious. the letters/calls are horrible & can become threatening BUT this part will soon be past tense, hang in there, you are not alone, hug
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!

But you are being the capable sensible one by taking this step. I was near the end before I took the step. I think we need to be at the end of our tether before it gives us the kick to do something. I know a lot of us wish we had done things sooner.

Chin up and move on with it all. We are here for you every step of the way. I can only say I feel a lot calmer, less depressed and actually more in control now I have one affordable payment to make.

Will try to remember to visit the site early and send a message! It's your life, you do it all at the speed you want to. I took 6 weeks to gather everything to send off for the proposal to be written as due to my depression and medication for my ailments I find it hard to concentrate for too long.
No need to rush things but if you are anything like me when you start to read through the info you'll start feeling more positive and get your act together!!

Probably because you know it's such a big step! Who are you going with again?

I must admit after speaking to Michael Peoples on the phone for a few weeks I was raring to go and sent everything in without asking for information by post. Bit of an organiser and a researcher so had done hours of preparation on the internet before setting the ball rolling.

If I could, I would come and help you but living in the south west you are probably nowhere near me!!

The welcome pack will be reassuring and will convince you that you are the first step on the road to becoming debt free. Your IP firm is here to help you at every step, and soon the burden you are carrying will feel lighter when you are sharing those problems with professionals who really do care about finding you the right debt solution for your future.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner
