What you use your money for prior to an IVA is up to you, most people use it as a contingency fund - as others have said though, don't go stupid with the presents though.

I think most people accept that things are tight these days with the price of everything going up.

Just tell them that you're cutting back.

Thankfully we don't buy for people at work, especially the boss!!!! In fact we get a bottle of wine each from the management.

We just do family - don't buy for any friends at all. Christmas is quite miserly in our house!!!!

I'm thinking about that stuff at the moment Recovering - but told my kids that this year was going to be a bit different !
As for my family & friends, I have found vouchers to get discounts etc for the shops I use and I also buy vouchers/gift cards etc at a lesser value as I get some discounts through my job.
I have been fairly good though and have only paid out a 1/3 of what I would normally spend.
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

Completion Certificate received- 30th April 2015!!

you started about the same time as me and I've been told today my proposal will be sent out this week.
should not be long now for yourself.
Dont think about not getting accepted,
no one on here will let you think that way, it will go though in the end.

Most of my presents are vouchers I earn doing online surveys.

recovering - have you had your proposal yet? Once you get this and check and sign it and send it back, it's sixteen days from your proposal being returned to the meeting date normally.

You should get it soon - just make sure you read it properly and are happy with what is in there.

I am sure you will be ok, we have not had a rejection on here for a very long time and your IP would not be putting your proposal forward if they didn't think it would be accepted.
