Basically, yes! It's unlikely that you are going to save thousands (more like a months old credit repayments, maybe two), if you did your IP might have that as an asset for the IVA !!!

It's usually 6 - 8 weeks from start to finish but there is no time set in stone. You're still on target.

Recovering.. I sent all my paperwork on the 8th November and I have now had the creditors meeting set for 14th December so from start to finish It would have took 5 nearly 6 weeks but I suppose it depends on the IP .. which company did you use?

Thats true... I know what you mean about panicking thats all I seem to do lately....when the phone rings / the postman comes / anyone mentions money or debt feel like a freak sometimes.

Sick of feeling sick and not sleeping only wish I was one of thoes people that went off their food with worry instead of comfort eating gonna be like side of a house soon.

Good luck with everything.

Melanie and her team are extremely efficient and I am sure they will be on with things asap, we are with her aswell but ours took 6 months (made the the first call exactly a year ago tomorrow and was approved on 6th May) but a lot of that was down to my expenses and income changing month to month so we had to put things back until things got on an even keel, it all came right in the end though

As Jan says, you are still on track. But speed isn't the be all and end all --- the important thing is to get everything right. You have an excellent team working on your behalf and are in the best of hands.

Mood swing is not the word! I know i'm doing the right thing but this whole thing has made me a bit pessimistic I suppose. In logical moments I think if there was a prob my IP would be in contact but when I see all of you moving on ( really happy for you all) I think something is wrong! you must be very strong to get through 6 months!!!!!

The human mind really can be quite evil at times, you'll be living your life and then you think of all the what if's..etc. Our IVA took 6 months to set up also recovering and at times I did feel panic stricken at the length of time, especially after reading that other people seemed to achieve acceptance much more quickly. However we have many creditors, which our IP described as a mish mash! ( I thought we had 21 creditors but it's actually 27!!)So it took time to get balances etc and in the 6 months many of our debts were transferred to collection agencies and one tried to achieve a CCJ but fortunately as from yesterday we are protected from any further action. Try to stay positive and trust in your IP. I wish you all the best.

do you know, initially I was a complete emotional wreck, I had never even missed a payment before so to be told to stop paying anything was hard enough to do in itself, but to do that for 6 months was really hard, there were numerous times I would post on the forum in a state over a creditor letter or call and my friends on here kept me sane throughout, you do get to a point though where you seem to find some inner strength, beforehand I was so desperate to preserve my credsit rating, and I don't really know why, when you realise how far down the line you have gone and it's completely trashed anyway, you honestly stop worrying about it anymore, you realise that all the bull the call centres tell you is a load of rubbish, default notices become meaningless, threats of doorstep collectors you start to shrug off, you really toughen up, all this stuff scares you when you are robbing peter to pay paul to ensure you don't get behind, but when you're in the thick of it, you have moments where you panic but overall you just ignore it and get on with your life, I put my complete faith in Mel and she came good for me.

I was about the same as Lem, having never missed a payment it was hard not to pay, but you do toughen up and I used to turn to the forum for suppoort in my low times.

If you've comlete faith in your IP then you'll get through this.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
