I've just had a look and it seems very odd - everyone is getting letters saying that there has been a court date even though they know nothing about it.

I'm quite dubious about this. If you still have the letter then open it and see what it says. It will keep until after Christmas now as nobody can do anything.

Get in touch with your IP as soon as they are open again after Christmas and explain your concerns. You can even scan the letter and email it across to them.

hi Recovering, we had Christmas to get through before our meeting this time last year,it feels a bit like being in limbo.

court action threats are usually scare tatics(and what a great job they can do[:(]!) just send stuff onto your IP if you're not sure.

do your best not to worry,it goes quiet for Christmas - enjoy the peace x

Hi hope everyone had a good christmas. Sorry all I seem to do is whinge on hear... I had a letter from a random debt management company saying a ccj had been entered against me. I have sent every letter i've had on to my IP and I had email saying my case had been moved forward to next stage. I thought it was all being dealt with, does this mean I won't be accepted? I am shaking with panic [:(]

Hi Recovering. Don't panic. At least your case is moving forward. There are a number of stages the IP has to go through to prepare the proposal. I know we all want things done and dusted as soon as possible, but a thorough job is far better than one half done :-)

As long as you keep yout IP informed along the way they will be doing their best for you.

Hang in there, you will soon be sorted and on your way.

Recovery - even if the CCj has ben lodged - then IVA will prevent it being acted on. No it does NOT mean your IVA application will fail

These things seems to happen over the long holiday breaks -so they and you will not really be able to do much,Easy for me to say but - why not email your IP direct explaining you concern so they can pick this up on next week.

You have done your bit (the hardest bit, really), now you have to just keep the IP informed and await the proposal and then the meeting. It will happen, just hang in there.

Scary letters - the company has to go through the court for a warrant to get baliffs involved-

Have a look at Direct gov website - it tell you what baliffs/companies etc can do (and not do) and what action you should take.

There nothing you (or they can do) !!! - world seems to grind to a halt over these long holidays :-)

To be honest this firm obviously is looking to scare me into using them...if i wasnt lucky enough to have all of you i probably would have. I always have to work all of xmas and new year so it doesnt feel like a holiday which makes everything worse..i think whole world should be doing what i am! I Just reread last email from IP i am awaiting a phone call from management team to discuss proposal and it will prob be mid/late jan for the meeting

There are, unfortunately, a lot of firms out there preying on people when they are vulnerable. Just pass the letters on to your IP and, other than that, ignore them.

Worth looking - at Direct Gov website anyway - at it is sensible to know what these companies can do /or not do !!!! - that way you wont feel anyway intimidated with them. Also these companies have to comply will stages of debt recovery - and that includes working with an 3rd party(proposed IVA company).

Chuck the letters in the corner - and try to enjoy what is left of these holidays. Here is to a happier 2012 :-)
