What does the letter actually say, recovering ? It is very rare for debtors to attend these days, and would probably be a surprise to the IP ! Tell them to get the biscuits out !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

No, you don't have to attend the meeting - just be available on the end of the phone in case there are any queries and of course to find out the all important acceptance!!!! I don't know of anyone who attends as the votes are usually done by phone or fax.

Good luck for the 9th!!!

Recovering,

Dont worry .

I am in a very similar situation. My wife and I are getting a joint IVA and were sent the proposals last week. Today we took an 'options call' from our provider where we went through our knowledge of the DMP v IVA v BR pros and cons before we signed off for the IVA.

We were told emphatically that when the creditors meeting is taking place we have to be available to take a phone call, within a window of around 30 minutes - there was no mention of having to attend.

From what I`ve learnt so far on my journey I don`t see the need to be present at that stage as your position is pretty much covered in the signed proposal.

Good luck, you`re not alone

hi, so glad you've got a date now!!!

no we didn't attend, just be close to the phone & have your pc on too.

we got a call 5mins into the meeting to say - yes!! the creditors weren't happy with IP fee's,
"modifications" meant they were reduced (more £ to creditors). we had to reply to a email sent from Mel's team to say we agreed to the "modifications". it didn't effect us at all.

looking forward to reading your happy post! you're almost there[;)]

You are doing the right thing - don't worry about the letters your IP will deal with them.
