Hi, I finished my IVA 12 months ago but I have not recieved my completion letter. My I.P has advised me that they are waiting on PPI confirmation.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are delays which are being resolved. You will just need to keep in touch with your IP and they should be able to give you an estimated time for closure.

Thanks for the post.
So what has a PPI claim got to do with my IVA if my IVA/payements have finished...should a PPI claim be successful "in my favour" should i have to pay any award back to the Creditor?...does not sound fair to me as i my eyes my IVA/ payments have finished

The right to reclaim the PPI belongs to the IVA and any recalim goes to the creditors of that IVA. This can apply even after the IVA has been closed down and while it may seem unfair it is correct. there are some issues with different firms and their terms and conditions so you would need to speak with GT to see what applies in your case.

They have a representative Karol who posts on this site and you could email her directly. Her details will be on the 'ask a question' section.

if a PPI claim can apply after an iva is shut down then why the delay in shutting down the iva?

There is no asset to recover until such time that a lender admits liability or FOS judge in your favour. If all payments have been made up until that point then why the delay?
7 years after starting an IVA I finally received a completion certificate from ClearDebt

It is more difficult for the former Supervisor to act once an IVA has been closed than if it is open. Cases must remain open until all PPI investigations are concluded and any assets recovered.

Must remain open? Or is it just easier for the IP to keep it open?

An IP who closes a case, in the knowledge that there may be further assets to pursue and therefore further distributions to make would, in my opinion, be very unwise. We are waiting for clarity on this from the regulators which I hope will be issued shortly.

My PPI Claims opened mid sept this year and closed en of october...there were no active PPI claims during or after my IVA had finised up until sept of this year...so there is no reason for my IP to keep my IVA open based on PPI claims at that time cos i did not have any

If your with GT, your wasting your breath, they take forever and tell you the same story forever, although it is told by several people, if your really really lucky you will get their top person in closures to deal with your case, it dosen't make any difference, it's just another line you'll be spun to try and cover the incompetence of this company. Good luck with the outcome, if it ever comes
