Hi, I`m taking the first steps in entering into an iva, and am in contact with cccs. Having no previous experience in matters of this nature, could someone tell me if I`m using the right people? TIA

It may be worth chatting with a few firms and then decide on the one you feel most comfortable with.

Take a look at www.iva.com and have a read of some of the reviews on different IPs and firms

Welcome from me as well, and I echo all of the above sentiments. Make sure that you are happy with whoever you choose, 5 years is a long time to be with someone you are not happy with.
