Good to see you`re making progress with Mel`s team. They can take some of the pressure.
I noted earlier you`d seen the GP and the stress was going down too. I can empathise with how you feel right now. I`m glad you`re getting the right help from all sides.
One step at a time[:)]

Missed first CC payment ever and waiting to sort out next steps
Had them on hold for a DMP but now think the IVA is the best way to go

Ox, until I finally came to my senses (and got my head out of the sand) I had never missed a payment in more years than I care to remember. Often raiding one credit card to pay another ! But is is still a wrench to miss that first payment. That feeling, too, will pass.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Yes Ox, it is a milestone.
I used to spend so much time trying to shuffle money between accounts on a daily basis to avoid missing the CC payment. Not to mention maxing bank overdrafts and securing loans just to ease things up. It was my life.
But you are on the right track and things, important things, will improve the further you go.

Remember the advice I gave you during our chat. Concentrate on getting the information together that we need to process your application, and try not to think about the what ifs - even on the forum - as it will just make you think about them even more. We know what we are doing, and you will soon have an outcome to your application - but focus on the job in hand is key to getting this as speedily as possible.

No point in fearing the unknown. It is up to me to ensure that you get the best representation possible, to make failure not an option.

Tina should have advised you of the documentation we require - but we have a formal letter coming out to you tomorrow in any case.

Once i got to this stage i just focused 100% on the documentation which took my mind off my worries a little. I think i got them sent back in a day! Sometimes theres no more questions its time to just act!

Ox, creditors will start to call. Simply tell them you are considering and IVA and give them Mel's details. Don't get into any conversation and pay no heed to what they might say. The majority of these calls come from call centres and the operators don't even know what an IVA is, so will spout all sorts of rubbish.

Remember, YOU have taken control, not them!
