hi my husband and myself have had seperate IVS's for the last 18mths and this involved selling our house too. Finally 6 weeks ago we sold and are now in rented accomodation Unfortunately we only managed to get half of the equity that we were expecting because of the downturn in the housing market. DfD are calling a variation meeting with our creditors for the beginning of Sept with new figures. Our original figures we would be paying 100p in the £ this one is offering 79p in the £. What do you think the chances are of them accepting the offer or will they make us bankrupt. Thank you
Helen

Hi,

You are still offering a good return to your creditors, much better than they will get if you go bankrupt.

I think you will be fine.

I really cant see anyone turning down anything over 40p in the pound for the forseeable future.

Good luck

Hi just to let you know that our creditors have accepted the offers but they were a bit picky..we could get council tax £12 cheaper if we moved !!!! Hence they have raised our payments by £12 each!!!!!
Anyway all is gd and that will be it now for just over 3 more years. Thanks for your support
Helen

Hooray for commonsense, shame about the pickiness though.

Well done but I agree it was a tad petty to go after £12 each. However, main worry over and good luck for the remainder of your IVA.
