Hi, the advice came via a flyer through the letterbox for an IVA health check. Maybe you are all right, maybe I am looking for an easy way out, I have a 5 year old son to support and it is tough for myself and my wife. The one thing I always make sure of is paying my mortgage and the secured loan i have on the house on time. I was hoping some advice may help me out, I am struggling with the IVA, although I hav never missed a payment, i have less than no money at the end of each month

I would be extremely cautious about any company who contacts you on spec as a result of finding out your are in an IVA. By all means listen to what they have to say, but the best person to give you onward advice about the future of the IVA is your IP themselves.

In the profession, we are all very aware that clients circumstances or priorities can change over the lifetime of an IVA, and we all have to be sufficiently flexible and adaptable to cope with that.

Hi again Russell

If youre struggling in the IVA of course you must find out all you can with regard to Bankrutcy, you should have had this explained at the start. Its so easy to agree to these things when you dont actually know what else is out there that would have suited you better. Most of us facing debt are so scared and isolated we dont see things in the long term, we just grab at the chance to find a way out, any way out. Its a very black place to be.

Check out a couple of the blogs to find out about BR, Skippys road to BR for example, there is also a sister BR site at the head of the home page.

Good luck and do please keep posting.
