Hi all,
It's been 9 months now since my IVA started and thought I would just comment, it is the best thing I have ever done...so far anyway. So nice to have no money worries and to sleep at night. My monthly budgeting is great and finding that each month I have money left in the bank....which I am removing and keeping in safe at home as I don't want the accounts thinking I can afford more....crafty eh?
Thanks for all your advice while I was going through this process

When I first started I used to withdraw surplus cash at the beginning of the month, leaving only enough in the bank to cover direct debits. Then I spread the cash between several allocated tins in the house. I found it far easier to budget when I could actually SEE what I was spending. Any surplus at the end of the month went under the mattress :-)

Hello all again,
Been 2 years since I started the process of my IVA and the great news is....I made a full and final settlement offer end of October and it was approved 30 days later with the help of my IP.
My outstanding amount, had I continued paying monthly would have been around 12K, I made an offer of 9K which as I say, was accepted by all but one creditor but then my IP talked to them and convinced them to accept, which they did.

Anyway, Final payment made in November and received my Certificate today....ALL DONE and I feel great!

I do have one final question though if someone can advise me... A friend kindly loaned me the money to clear the IVA and I want to pay him back as soon as possible so I can be totally clear of any debt.
I have a pension from years ago, that when it is due to be paid is worth very very little, I intend on cashing this in as remaining pensions are sufficient.
How long should I wait before I apply for the cash in on my pension to ensure there is no mix up and no creditors take a grab at it?

Not sure if I can use this site for this but here goes. My IP were Carrington George and I cannot fault them, they have been excellent throughout my IVA and everything seems to have been done so quick and problem free.

Thanks again to everyone for your guidance through this process

Now that you have got your completion certificate your money is your own, apart from any PPI that might be discovered. Well done on finishing.
