Hello all
I wonder if any one can help me.I am in an iva which has been running since December 3rd 2013. I am self employed and have a tax bill from HMRC.I am a little confused and want to know if any one can help.
My bill has a (Balancing payment due for year 14/15) Should that part have been included in my IVA? My IVA company says no but I have been told maybe it should have been. Any reply's would be very much appreciated.

I think not -- the 2012/13 tax year would be, but not beyond that.

Apologies -- the 2013 /14 year, that is -- I hate the HMRC split year !!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Have to agree with Foggy on this one - it is post IVA so won't be included.

You must be seriously in arrears with HMRC and as such this would be a breach. I am surprised they have not asked for your IVA to be failed and bankruptcy proceedings instigated so your IP must not be aware. You need to speak with them and try to find out what has gone wrong. Your IVA should have included a provision for you to meet future liabilities so if your payments were set too high you could seek a break and reduction.

Your tax for the year ended April 2014 would be included but anything after that was your responsibility to pay post IVA. As the others state you need to speak to your IP asap to see if you can work around this. Either you have been overspending on non essential items and not setting aside funds to pay your taxes or there is a problem with the I&E/contribution calculations.
