I am hopefully moving because i have found a better house. I am worried because my new neighbours have 2 small noisy children and I am worried for the new owners. Can they come back to me about their moderate noise or once the property is sold is it then something they have to sort out.Although I have already sorted out quite a lot of their noise, its just the small kids now running around, but not all day. Can the new owners come back to me about it and say I should have told them. As i said the noise is not on a regular basis and i have made them aware of it?
Im not an expert in anything like that but i would have thought that once the house is sold, its no longer your responsibility.
If the noise is only moderate as you say and not regular then it may not even bother the new owners.
Before you sell the property, you will be asked to confirm in writing that there are no issues relating to your neighbours which you ought to bring to the attention of the purchaser.
What you class as noisy, may not be the same in other people's eyes, and from how you describe things it does not sound as if this is a serious problem. Do take advice from your solicitor on this point though, to be sure.
To Melanie Giles,
Thank you so much for your reply, it really helped me. As you say some noises do not bother other people in the same way. I think it is just a matter of floor insulation.
Hopefully the new neighbours will get on well and sort out any problem, if they have any.
Thank you
