Nothing so far for us - I have my fingers crossed that it's not going to affect us.

Hope you`re lucky Kallis and you avoid the increases, but they always seem to follow suit. don`t they[}:)]

How do financial pariahs such as us go on if we try to change suppliers? Have others in IVA`s been able to change without any problems?

After BG announced their increases I logged in. They do make me laugh - as per other posters they have transferred us from an on-line discount scheme to a standard scheme. Didn't bother telling us though!
Anyway got back on the on-line scheme and it doesn't seem their increases will affect us too much. I'm quite tight with things now and every electrical item is switched off til we need it. I am even limiting the dishwasher now.

I think everyone will struggle to avoid increases as where one supplier leads they all follow.

People may be able to keep increases down to say 5% by shopping around but those deals will soon vanish mark my words.

It is a classic case of them passing on the cost of wholesale price increases plus adding extra on for the shareholders to be kept happy.

When Winter comes around I'll leave the Gas off and just wrap up warm as most people can't afford these increases. For those of us in IVA's it is impossible.

I`ve been with British Gas for a while now and I was on the energy saver online tarrif kazza for both gas and electricity. I recently tried to cap my tarrifs but all deals had been stopped so I opted for their websaver 11 tarrif.
Since entering my IVA I`ve been waiting for them to put me on the standard tarrifs, but as yet they haven`t (touch wood), but I had an email yesterday informing me of the 18% price increases as from August, and they informed me that i will be contacted in due course should my d/d payments need to change.

They may have restarted their capped tariffs Goosed as we were offered one last week. Whether or not that's because we were already on a capped tariff I don't know but it could be worth a look.

You have done well there goosed! Didn't take them long to get us. We are definitely unclean now as we are on the insolvency register too!

Makes me laugh all this treating us like steerage - I would say people in IVA's ar emost likely to pay everything on time and be good girls and boys!

Agree Kazzafunk. I always had a cavalier approach to money. Now I am so careful, more so than anyone I know because until you been there most people just not very frugal.

Just had a butchers on BG`s site and they are indeed offering a capped tarrif but until March `13.
Sounds good BUT the price is set at 5% HIGHER than the AUGUST 18% PRICE RISE to come[:0]
