Just found out yesterday from my best friend that my ex, (who took out debt in our joint name without my permission then went bankrupt leaving me with debt i didnt know about and making me go insolvant myself, not to mention almost costing me my horse and my relationship with my bf) is driving around in a fancy 03 reg LWB Shogun Sport 3.5!!!!!!! how can this a**hole live with himself!!! i ask you!! i am driving about in a cr$ppy 900cc Fiat cause its all i can afford THANKS TO HIM and living off of a really poor wage (if it wasnt for my bf i wouldnt even have a place to live either)and he's larging it up in a fancy machine no doubt living the high life! HOW can he do this if he's bankrupt? the car is worth £5000 or so, would he have it registered to someone else? would that work?
GOD I HATE HIM!!!!!!!

Hi Pink Dog - I don't know how your ex does it but don't waste your energy on him.

Think of your new relationship and how you kept your beloved horse. There will be an end to your debt and you're a better person than he will ever be.

Stay strong x

Has he been discharged from bankruptcy yet? If so then I am afraid he can have a car of that value. If not discharged, you could always inform the Accountant in Bankruptcy or his Trustee and potentially this could be taken from him.

Hey Pink sorry about your ex. What goes around definately does come around maybe not straight away. I'm not normally vindictive but I'd try and find out if he is discharged and if not then do as Melanie says.

Melanie, how do i report this to the Accountant of Bankruptcy? does it matter if its in someone elses name?

i know this sounds nasty but im really not malicious, i let him take everything from the house, i asked for nothing in return, i left with no arguments, i gave him the easiest route altogether. and he does this to me. he deserves to have nothing. i have nothing but Major, for which i am truely grateful for. i gave him my beautiful dogs, who i miss with all my heart. he even wanted my fancy car that i had back then! he made up lies about my new bf, nasty ones, he threatened to hurt him, he made divorce difficalt (which is still unresolved. i rolled over and let him take what he wanted (bar the horse and car)and i said nothing of all the hurtful things he did and said . . until now

I hope you are okay.

I understand why you feel the way you do. Just try not to let it consume you.

You are better than him you have proved this on several occassions it would appear.

If the vehicle is in someone else's name, then he may be using it but not the registered owner. You do need to be careful of accusing someone of something that is not true. Might be better to forget about him and move on.

How can i forget? he's ruined my life! i cant even afford a flippin divorce because of him!

i had dreams with my bf that this year we would have a baby, now, because of all this, my bf wont do it until my trust deed is over (due to the obvious money aspect) as we both agree, bringing a baby into the world with very little money to support it is wreckless.

i'll be well into my 30's by then, i dont want to be an older mum, i want to be a mum now and i want at least 2 children and my lovely ex has ruined all that for us

A couple of thoughts,
as someone else has said he may well have borrowed the car,or it may be he has a new GF and its hers. Also you have to be careful as the registered keeper isnt always the owner, they are different.if his name is on the docs it may only be for insurance purposes.Maybe he got a job in a garage and its a punters car?

other thought.if he has taken credit in your name without your permission isnt that theft or fraud and if so why should you pay it back, surely if it can be proven you should be absolved and released from any debt?

tread carefully, think twice and watch your back,he sounds slimy.
i'm not skint,i'm financially challenged

he doesnt work in a garage, i know that 100% (he also has no idea about cars, he couldnt even change a bulb cluster, i had to do it!)

he is malicious, i have seen him do things that you would really only hear of in your worst nightmares, but i refuse to 'watch my back'when it come to him, deep down he's just a pathetic little man who feels the need to fill the lack of masculinity in his life with money, objects and dolly birds (hence why we didnt last, im no dolly bird, i hate make up and love car engines! i happier shovelling horse dung or thrashing a motorbike to death!!!)
