I`ve got a mate at work who actually showers at work before and after his shift, so as not to use his own water !!! and the swine nicks loo rolls out of our work toilets too...Saves him a few quid over a year, he reckons.

Taking loo rolls is theft of company property and maybe he should be aware of this as it would be a shame to lose his job over a loo roll! If the shower is provided for employees usage then I guess there is nothing wrong in that.

Indeed Lesley, I`m not advocating or condoning it, I`m just sharing the fact of how tight fisted this fella is with you all...He also gets on his hands and knees every night in the canteen and looks under the vending machines for any stray change...He`ll die a very well off man.

It is theft. As regards the showers, unless he's on a water meter he won't be saving anything anyway. I just call that plain stupid.

I always get birthday cards from the local post office as they are cheap. Christmas cards are usually from the same place - lots in a box and a bargain!

I used to work with a tight fisted so and so, but even he never stooped that low (if you pardon the pun!)

I must admit, I am a little concerned at how I will manage if I`m lucky enough to get my IVA proposal accepted. Running my car is my main concern...I`ve already started to try and adapt to a more frugal lifestyle and I quite like mooching around the `everything a pound` shops, I`ve found some cracking buys in them. Those air freshener refills that are over £3.50 each in the super markets, I got five for a fiver the other day...And they`re not the iffy smelling ones either

There are bargains to be had if we look for them. I tend to know the price of most things and find now that people come to me and say any good offers this week Lez, they just think I'm a tight old git but really I'm hard up! x

I pretty much know the price of the stuff we normally buy. There's a difference between being hard up and just plain miserly!

Sainsbury have 25% off their clothing and accessories this week. Went at lunchtime and bought a pair of black linen trousers with the discount £11.25, fit lovely, just tried them on. Going to a friend BBQ at the weekend so they'll do nicely for that and then I'll get away with them at work when nobody official is here! x

Don't forget the Nectar points as well!

What do you normally have to wear then Lesley? I have to wear black trousers and love the Asda £5 ones.

Anything smart really we can wear Jan. If it's a formal do with the Principal present or teaching an outisde group we need a suit, skirt or trouser. Other ordinary lessons (LSC/PCDL students), today for instance I've got a M&S top I got for a fiver from an outlet, trousers that H gave me! and a longline cardi, on my feet is my fit flops, but today I've been alone all day and only had students 3 hours this morning. Lovely day! Half term next week so off all week x

And the nectar points too is another saving in a way. x

My top half is uniform, but other than jeans I can wear what I want. We did have uniform trousers but they were awful, are now too big for me and I can't get anymore of them.

Currently looking at Ebay to see what they have. I love Asda ones but fancy a change.

We are currently having to be really frugal at the moment & Im dreading next week with half term.

We currently tried to save some money on a problem with the car. The drivers side of the car wont open from the inside n you have to put your arm through the window to get out. This problem will fail its MOT in 2 months - Safety.
Its a simple problem so we took the panel off n had a look n found a cable had snapped. Phoned our regular garage n popped it in for them to look at, needs a new part n its going in next week to be sorted. But we saved ourselves an hours worth of work for them to look at it - few! Luckily its not going to cost alot.
We are also currently doing our rust n body work repairing on the car too. Car had better behave its self on its MOT!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X
