While is tempting to be rude and aggressive - to these people - we need to remember they doing a job - so we need to be careful we dont overstep the line and breach the Telecommunication Act 2003
(verbal threats and aggression).

If that happens we in trouble!(fine or Six month in prison)

I agree with Lesley.

If someone was rude to me I certainly wouldn't worry about being rude back! OK they are doing a job but they can be polite about it!

These are people - who are just about finished pubety,[:)] have very little interpersonal skills, heard every excuse under the sun,had little training.
Whilst it doesnt excuse their rudeness - being rude back doesnt exuse your rudeness.
As Herbekj - has mentioned, the easier option is "not in" or "sorry dont know my security data"

Remember they have the recorded conversation.

It the heat of an aurgument - things are said or threatened - just becareful - thats all !

The people who work in the call centres know exactly what they are doing - don't know if you saw the Channel 4 documentary ginger but some of them think it's great that they can treat people the way they do.

Yes, they do have a job to do but they don't have to be rude/

I saw that Jan and there's no excuse for that sort of behaviour. If someone treated me like that they would get similar back - no threats but they would know exactly what I thought!

Honestly, I just pulled the plug on the phone, anyone I wanted to talk to had my mobile and I just said problem with landline, BT investigating

That really is the simplest stressfree option if you want to keep your number.

I didn't speak to any of mine until the date of acceptance. I was lucky as I had just signed up to BT Broadband so got a new number with that and it was great knowing that I wouldn't have a call centre on the end of the phone!

I would have no problem with changing my number though if it came to it/
