I like poundland and budget shops but I can't honestly say I'm cured, I wish I could but I have urges to spend spend spend and luckily I can't with a capital 'C' but I need a bit more time to reform totally and I honestly feel that way x

I probably could still spend for England Lesley - will only be when I have the money though now!

Oh yeah I can't do it, I didn't mean I do, I just go in a shop and think want want want....realistically I can't have and accept it, but I know it's built in me x

I look for the cheapest now! I wait for the sales and see what I can pick up cheap!

Would never have done that in the past though.

I love being frugal & finding bargains! I did have a shopping spree in the Easter holiday when we went away. But we had saved up & waited to buy things that we needed. We went to primark - love that shop! We went to ikea for the first time - love that shop too! First time I had been to both! Hubby & I had save our next vouchers from Christmas & went to a next clearance & got some bargains & items I had wanted previously!
We have not shopped like that for years & I truly enjoyed it & it was great paying in cash/vouchers!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

I actually prefer to buy my fresh stuff in the shop and never buy meat or bread from the supermarket now.

I pay a bit more but the taste is so much better.

We used to buy supermarket bread but do now prefer the local bakery - it's a bit more expensive but it's worth it.

I'm afraid we are big meat eaters so love the local butcher. Fish we have delivered every three months. Not cheap but it is fresh and we only buy what we need.

I've realised that I would buy something on my credit card like a £50 pair of shoes and not think about it as the card would cover it. I've been told what our clothes and footwear allowance will be and it's £73 per a month. There is no way I could part with £50 in cash for those shoes....when it's in cold hard cash you see that money going but think nothing of handing over plastic....never again!!

I agree worriedchick, handing cash over is so much harder than a piece of plastic as that was never real money (well not mine anyway). x

We find the local discount shoe places (I had a fab pair of leather knee length boots last year for a tenner!)

I do like paying cash for clothes now though.

There is no better feeling than sourcing a bargain and paying for it in cash!

Yes worried chick - but you only have to pay it over 5 or 6 years depending on your circs. I'd have been paying for 30+ years if not doing this.
