I'd probably have been pushing up the daisies before I'd finished paying if I had carried on paying my DMP!

Yes, I'm entering the tunnel that gets brighter the further you go. I would never have got out of debt as unable to budget as all money was going to pay debt

I've got a lot of friends via this forum, some of whom I've met off forum.

A lot of us are friends on Facebook as well.

Don't go to supermarket hungry.
Always keep a list.
Don't underestimate other expenses like Car tax, petrol, haircuts, car/house reapairs and such. I have a great list of all that stuff.

Yeap im with you on that one Jan! I was so pleased for you when you were experimenting with your phone!

I check in on the forum regularly from my phone, I like to keep track, though it's not always possible with my parents & boys! I'm most certainly on here more than FB! Won't be around much tomorrow as I have to got sit in GPs open surgery to get & discuss the results of my mums test last week. She was really nasty to me today, not her fault I know, but I sat there last week waiting for 2 hours & I just had a moment of "why bother"!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

I very rarely use my phone for the forum, I restrict my hours on the net purely because I was becoming unsocial. I try and post when I can. I'm on here this morning as I had some banking to do (transfer my dental money!).

Lyns hope all goes well today, do know how you feel honest. I'll drop you a text later to let you know I'm thinking of you x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We plan our menus and take out a weekly budget out of the bank. Otherwise i think we'd be too tempted to spend it!!! I have got into a habit of checking our bank daily, i love seeing it not overdrawn. The first time for many many years!! Hope you get on ok today lyns. x

Same here struzzo, we plan and I have a set amount, anything left goes into the treat tin, although these days it's not often with the price of things. x

I think I'm going to try shopping with a list and cash as my budgeting is getting worse and I'm a bit strapped at the mo anyway coz I realised that with my new salary and new travel costs I'm £129 down on where I should be to make my budget affordable. Eek!! Thanks for the tip guys xx

We withdraw our food/petrol/nursery money each week. Seperate it all into money bags, anything left over we pop into our little savings account. From my DD account I also transfer my emergency/cars/haircuts etc into my savings.
In saying that though. I am really struggling at the moment. I don't know whether it's because we have had quite an expensive couple of months what with birthdays and stuff but we truly haven't got a pot to pee in at the minute!
I suppose it's going to take a while for things to settle down and for me to get myself into a routine but it just feels like we're going nowhere fast right now :(

we go from good months to bad! .This month isnt too bad but last month we struggled along ,I found the supermarket too tempting with all the offers and we control our budget much better by shopping on line and having it delievered ,im now looking for someone to put it away too!
