Hi Kerry,

I think it all depends on individual circumstances. My case was straight forward and for initial contact on 6th October my IVA was approved on the 1st of December. So my case took under two months.

Welcome kerry.
I had first contact with an advisor on the 3rd Jan and my IVA was accepted on 21st of Feb, I think its important to choose a company which you dont pay till after the Iva is approved. I think personally they work quicker and more efficently in this senario.

Many thanks steve532 & camiva, it's good to have some rough idea on how long these things take.

I'm just looking into this now.

Hello kerry

Make sure that you speak to at least 3 companies and dont go with the first sympathetic ear, also be realistic in what you can afford to pay each month, there is no point in proposing an unrealistic IVA. Also make sure that the company explain all of your options. It a shame that there are cowboys out there waiting to rip unsuspecting people off. Avoid synergi, the companies that post on this site are OK.

Good luck and keep posting your progress and questions

As the previous posters have said, this can vary from case to case, and can depend on how quickly you can get your supporting documents together, arrange a meeting with you IP, or even whether your proposal has to go to a variation meeting or not.

A smooth process would usually see a period of 5 - 8 weeks for your IVA to be accepted.

Hi Oliver
Is it correct that if you go through Thomas Charles that nothing can happen until you have paid 2 months to Thomas Charles?
Thanks
Zoe
