Hi there

What is the position regarding your house? Is there any equity?

And Butterflies - you cannot be seriously saying that your IVA has taken 18 months to put in place? If so what are the reasons for this?

I remember this well, I started the ball rolling on the 25th January 2006, two payments were made to Thomas Charles on the 16th February/March. First payment into the IVA to my IP was on the 16 April 2006

Creditors meeting where the IVA was approved was on the 24th March, so 2 months in total.

Hi all

Mine took 8 months from March to November I contacted DebtBusters by phone and did all they asked and my case was transfered to Synergie (was know by another name at the time) Again I replied to letters asap and sent everything that I was asked more or less by return of post. Not knowing any difference I did not know how long it should have taken. I started to pay form the March so although my IVA will be completed in November 2010 I stop paying in March 2010. The only problem I had with things taking so long was the letters and phone calls even though I kept all my creditors informed of the IVA they quite rightly keep on trying to get their money until the IVA is approved which mine was with no amendments.

Although for us it was the best thing I can't wait for it all to be over, I am fed up with having no money even though I work hard and earn a reasonable amount, my husband's health is failing he has Alzheimer's disease and I would like to make his last years comfortable, not that he doesn't have all he needs but more days out would be good and being able to buy him little treats. I am not moaning as I said the IVA was the best thing for us and like most people I feel a moral responsibility for my debts.

Been told the forms will be here this week, hopefully it will only take weeks to be approved. i am a bit of a dog with a bone so i will keep them on their toes. i have made up letters to write to all my creditors to let them know, hopefully so they will stop pestering me until its sorted. Should i do this.

Melanie, house to pay off £143 thousand and on for a fixed £172. But i have a secured loan, the FOB said they need to make this unsecured s i will have no property to secure against. equity will go to iva i presume and secured turned and forecasted into my iva. i could keep my house but we are still maxed out with the morgage and the secured loan. if i rent or get a council property i will have lower rent, council tax and turn loan into iva. it means i will have a little disposable income to live on. as currently even with iva, there is little left, especially for emergencies. i dont want to end up in the same situation. dont care about the house, nor ever getting a morgage or credit ever again . happy to live my parents until we get a council house. currently on the list and looks okay, plus i have our local mp on my side.
