We bought a 3 piece suite on buy now pay January, we have now taken steps down the IVA route. This purchase has only had one payment made and now I am sending out the IVA letter to creditors. Will this affect anything when it comes to the creditors meeting? (Sorry if I don't make much sense but I am now in a panic). If our heads hadn't been buried in the sand I would have never bought this and tried to get second hand(as other had collapsed being 11 years old). Please help!!
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

Hi angela (nice name) lol.
We had similar with argos, they didnt ask for it back or anything, as you say you didnt buy it knowing that you would be applying for an iva.
Try not to worry.

thanks aguise

Just feel like a thief. sitting on a brand new sofa and all this mess going on around me!! Seems ironic new sofa covered in IVA letters, can just imagine creditors meeting saying "she's having a laugh"

My sofa looked the same as well at the time. Try not to worry you can only do your best and that is what you are doing. You have to sit somewhere.

sit and relax on it - after all five years in an IVA will mean you will be doing alot of TV watching and drinking cups of tea!

Similar to us, bought the 3-piece on 'nothing to pay for a year'. Never made a payment as we in bankruptcy procedures by the time the 1st payment was due....We had no idea we would be declaring bankruptcy when we bought it. Things can go very wrong in a year......
It's nice to be back......
