how will this effect my credit record please

hi all new to site
2 years ago had an overdraft with bank. due to loss of husband things were missed. Any way i phoned the debt co and made arrangemt to pay. abt nov last year they started to ring on a very reg basis stating that they could reduce the debt if i forward a cheque for the amount they stated approx £1500 the debt was org 4k i paid in total approx 3.5k. how will this effect my credit record please

Hi
Can you remember if you received a default notice when you were behind with payments ?
It is possible and probable that your payment history[something that credit providers look at] will reflect that you have missed some payments and it is possible that you have a default notice on your account.
Your can apply online to view tyour credit file with experian and equifax.
