Hi there
My boyfriend has an iva, which started in April 2007, at present we live apart but we would like to live together, the best option would be for him to come and live with me because I am mortgage free. How would this affect his iva, would he have to be reassessed taking my earnings into consideration?

Shouldn't be a problem but I would suggest that he pays you rent equivalent to what he pays for housing now.

This would result in there being no change to his disposable income and thus his contribution in to the IVA but I would recommend that he clears this with his Supervisor before actually doing it.

It would be reasonable for him to pay rent to you to cover his lodgings and share of the costs.

Hello Kaz,

Your boyfriend's I.P may need to re-assess earnings and expenditure if the payment to his creditors will change. However as others have stated it is best that he keeps his rental payment etc the same if possible.
