Hi Christine Welcome to the forum.Im sorry that your husband is poorly, but i would contact your ip asap and inform them of these knew circumstances.Im sure they will be able to suggest a way forward.
Because this situation is out of your control then im sure they will view it with sympathy,i take it your husband doesnt recieve sick pay or is maybe selfemployed,in these circumstances i dont know if a holiday break would be allowed as it is so early into your iva.
Im sure one of our experts will advise.I hope its nothing too serious and that he will soon be back home and feeling well again.
Take care
Tracy

I'm very sorry to hear that. Talk to your IP as soon as you get the time and explain the situation. In instances such as these it is likely that you will be able to take a break from your payments until you get back on your feet and then make up for this break at the back end of your IVA.

Best Regards

Hi christine,

I’m sorry for you and your husband.
I agree with the previous posts, you should talk to your IP and explain what happened. I'm sure he will help you. A break form your payments is most likely to happen.

All the best!

Hi Christine - I hope hubby will be well and home with you again soon.

You can usually miss up to three payments in your IVA, without the need to formally vary it. Check with your IP if this is the case in your arrangement. If so, I suggest you take those three months off, and review the situation at that stage - but it would seem sensible for your creditors to accept a payment break if your husband is eventually going to be able to return to work.

Try not to worry about this - there are more important things to be concerned about at the moment.

Hi Christine, first of all (and most importantly) I hope your hubby is soon on the mend. Speak to your IP - they should be understanding about something unforeseen like this. My IVA was only deemed to fail when I missed 3 payments - if yours has the same wording I would do this to give you a chance to see how things pan out.

Good luck, and please let us know how you get on x
