I am being threatened with bankruptcy as I have missed some payments due to redundancy.
Canthis be prevented?

I presume from this you are in a DMP or IVA already ? Have you spoken to your IP for support or guidance in this case......they may be able to offer a reduction in your payments until things are sorted job wise.

If it's just ordinary payments you are talkin about, you need to speak to an Insolvency Practitioner as soon as possible and take some advice from them.

Your IP ought to be able to request a break in payments until you can find alternative employment. Given today's economic climate, I would ask for 12 months, clearly to be reduced if work is found in the meantime. Were you be entitled to any redundancy money?
