Hiya guys

Im starting college tomorrow, I am quite scared. I need to get out there but the effects on health of the events of the last couple of years mean I cannot at this time return to my old job.

So I start a new counselling course tomorrow, its only basic and part time. Its been a while since I have studied, will I be the oldest one there? Will I have anything in common with anyone else? Will I just be a nervous wreck? All of these questions going round in my mind, I am trying not to talk myself out of it all.

Oh God I am so scared whitless.

Hi Lily,

Good for you - a new challenge that will bring some fears, but also a chance to start a new chapter in your life. From the support and comfort you show on here, I have every faith that you will be a success.

Take a deep breath before you go through the college gates and embrace the challenge.

Good luck [;)]

Lily, I wish you all the best for tomorrow. I am sure you will be fine once you walk through the door.

I'll bet there are a lot of 'mature' students there, you won't be the only one.

Enjoy yourself.

Hi Lily
Best of luck tomorrow, I'm sure you'll be fine. You ask if you'll have anything in common with your fellow students> Well ..... they will probably be thinking ....
1) Will I be the oldest one there?
2) Will I have anything in common with anyone else?
3) Will I just be a nervous wreck?

To paraphrase .. the more we think we might be different, the more similar we are.

You'll be fine ... enjoy [:)]

Thanks very much.

I did it, well almost, the comp that prints off the pictures kind went bang, so many different people trying to enrol today, it couldnt cope. I didnt have the right forms. All OK though, sat in the hall with other students, I dont think I am the oldest, anymore. It was quite nice, like being at school, wasnt too nervous. A bit like cattle being herded around really, in a nice way though. Have to go back and finish the job tomorrow, then its all systems go.

Thanks again.
