Hiya. I am just wondering if someone could give me abit of advice in regards to our completion certificate.We are with DFD and We had a full and final variation meeting on the 9-12-2015 which was accepted. The money had been paid prior to the meeting and the meeting was done to speed up the completion. I've rang a couple of times since to check on progress but all they keep saying is that it will take 6 months to issue the certificate. Everything from our side is done. We have signed the Deed of Assignment and as far as i am aware there is nothing else for us to do. Im just confused as to why it would still take 6 months to issue this? Is this the norm? Thank you in advance!
Unfortunately DFD are taking their time to issue completion - keep pressing them!!

Hi cba1987
I am in the same situation as yourself and I have been informed that six months is a timescale place upon the closure of the Iva. Which is a maximum time DFD have chosen to use albeit your Iva closure and certificate of completion may be completed before the timeframe given.
I think it's to give creditors time to submit any claim before the Iva timescale ends which is six months but as I say it can complete before as most creditors do submit their claims well before.
But saying that there are good people on here who feel that some Iva companies can complete in shorter timescales. It looks like DFD have over done it with the sherry and took on too much perhaps. But I don't suppose that would ever be admitted.
6 months is just about the mximum IPs can delay issuing the CC before a complaint can be upheld against them.
In my personal opinion its a ridiculous amount of time and there is no excuse in taking that long to close and issue a CC if all other matters have been dealt with. Keep the pressure on them. Laura from DFD is on here - you might want to send her an email and ask her to look into this as I saw that she helped to speed things up for someone else on this forum recently in the same boat as you.
Thanks everyone for your advice. I feel very upset today. My husband has rang today and asked about progress. Well he was told that it is still with the variation team ( even tho there is nothing else for them to do as our full and final was accepted on the 9th December!) And she said it hasnt even gone to the pre-closure department yet...let alone the closure one!! Apparently its a 6months wait to even get to them. Nothing is getting done...we feel like its never going to end. Its been a long 7 years. I have emailed Laura with the e-mail adress off here so im hoping she will get back to me. #128543;
Complain - the whole point of making a full and final is so that the IVA process is ended.
Complain on the basis that 1) the delay is unreasonable given the work that would have been needed to help facilitate the full and final meeting and 2) they are knowingly promoting the processing of incorrect information linked to your IVA in breach of the data protection act.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
