Thanks all. I now have a question on Bank acounts. I have taken the liberty of opening a basic bank account with debit card with Barclays given that I currently bank with First Direct and they have allready told me they do not support iVA's. I assume I am ok to hold a debit card if in an IVA ? Also my wifes account is with Barclays, but she has a small overdraft which I will need to include in the IVA so should she advise Barclays of our intentions and ask to open a basic account with Debit card also ? Would it be likely Barclays would do this for her ( she has been with them for 15 years ) or would she be told to go elsewhere ? Thanks
You are fine to have a debit card in an IVA, and as long as you have no debts with Barclays then there shouldn't be a problem with the account.
Is your wife entering an IVA as well? If so, then she will need to change banks as well unfortunately. If not, then I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to include her overdraft in your IVA as it is her debt and not yours.
