Lem you are not a failure and it will all come together.

Unfortunately all these mechanical problems seem to come along at the wrong time! Hope you get it sorted.

You can have a rant at any time on here.

Thank you everyone, I am feeling a little brighter now, breakdown chap was a waste of time, doesn't know what is wrong, but thinks it is prob the battery and suggests taking it to Halfords tomorrow for a battery check, er, how do I do that when it won't start????

hubby has called the chap who did the cambelt on his car a couple of weeks ago and he is bringing me his car tomorrow and is going to sort it for me, what a total star, he thinks it is the battery 99%, just have to find some money to pay him with now, will ring about the ISA tomorrow and see how long that will take to come through

aw Lem hun, you not a failure, it is hard i know it is, persevere hun, ignore the phone completely, I never answered any of them, letters were just copied and sent to tamsyn, take it one day at a time.

Write it down, anything that you need to help you, any questions you think of, and all the little jobs you remember that have to be done.

Add me as frugal friend hun, we can talk off line too.

Hi lem,you can add me as a f friend if you want. i know how you feel,my fire broke, hubbys trainers are thread bare and my curtain rail has snapped in the bedroom. my friend knew a gas man who did the fire cheap, trainers are going to be bought in the Jan sales and curtain rail too if it lasts that long!
our son's home from uni next week, will be nice to see him although he eats like a horse so another mouth to feed untill Feb.

we are going to start a savings card off in Asda for next Christmas in Jan 2011,i'm determined we won't be panicking come next Dec.
i miss going to church, money is too tight for collections. but i'm so grateful our mortgage is up to date, grateful for a home and both our children will be home. our oldest is in the army and is waiting to be told a date for going to Afgan. time with them both together feels precious.

Sports Direct are good for trainers - really cheap.

Hope you have a brilliant Christmas with your family.

Hi Rose, will go and add you on as a friend now, car is fixed!!!! (well, sort of) at least it is running, it needed a new battery so at least I am on the road again, I haven't paid for it yet and am awaiting the bill. But it still needs a bit of work doing on it so is going in next week for a quote.

We are having the house valued on Monday, not looking forward to that at all, had a new offer from the mortgage company today but they have valued our house at almost £30k less than we paid for it coming up to 3 yrs ago which pushes us into negative equity, boy I wish hubby could go BR as that is what I would do now! but sadly we don't have that option.

I am struggling trying to get everything together for the case admin team, why do they want my tax credit award notification????? it shows up on our bank statements so I don't understand why they want the full award notice aswell???? I don't have one anyway so will have to get onto the tax office about that. They also want pension statements but I have an NHS pension and we never get statements! I have never had one in the 12 years I have paid into it it just shows up on my payslip.

No creditor calls today, it's all gone quiet which disturbs me a little actually

Hi lem, hope you're ok. we had our house valued, it had no equity,i felt a bit sad about it really even though it wasn't a surprise. houses in our area just aren't selling, some have been up well over a year. glad the car is going again. good luck for tomorrow, hug x

Rosepetal, sorry to say that there is no chance of a creditor meeting before Christmas.

Lem, glad the car is sorted for the moment.

Just enjoy the silence on the phone. It does happen sometimes.

With the requirement to provide 16 days notice of a creditors meeting, and the work that has to be done in preparation for this, there would have been no chance of a pre-Christmas meeting as we have not received the paperwork yet from Lem and Rosepetal to validate their applications.

Speed is not always the best measure of a successful IVA, but I would expect creditors meetings by the end of January if all goes well.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Rosepetal, sorry, I didn't answer the second part of your post.

I have a grown up daughter who is aware of our situation so knows that things are tight.

As Mel says, it's better to have to wait a while and make sure that everything is spot on, rather than rush and run the risk of failure.
