My Iva was due for completion in July, but because i am at the point of paying 100% back as we also had PPI payments go in, the last review they reduced my term by 2 months so i now only have 3 payments left, however they have contacted me last night to tell me that yes i will be finished in may i will still owe over £2500 because they say i have earnt more than they knew about (even though they have had every payslip) from a couple of bonus's i had in 2013 and 2014, and they won't sign me off until this has been paid?
but if i pay in full my credit rating will be back to normal before the 6 years up as i will have 0 debt written off?
also the fees on my account have trebled from the original forcast, this is not to mention the fact i was sold to the IVA under the impression i would not have to pay all back, between 30-50% not 100%.
the last 5 years (+1 on a debt scheme) have been so hard my wife has even attempted suicide because of this and now we see the light at the end of the tunnel just close right up on us. i am fearful to how my wife will react and i need guidance. please help please clarify it all please say this nightmare can be over soon.
Many thanks

Hi,

Your concerns regarding the percentage paid back were addressed here:

http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=53380

And Freeman Jones offered to assist here:

http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=66725

Did you contact them ? I would suggest you do so again to get this matter settled once and for all.

If they reduced your term because you would have paid everything due two months early I cannot see how any more is suddenly due, from whatever source.

Your credit rating will remain affected until the 6 years anniversary, regardless of whether you pay the full debt or have any written off --- indeed, even if you finish the IVA early. It is on your file and, like everything else, will remain there for the prescribed time.

As I suggest ... get in touch with FJ and talk.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Dear Ravgodbold

I am very sorry for the stress this is causing you and your wife.

I too am a little confused why you would be asked to pay more if your term has been reduced because you have paid everything due.

You are welcome to get in touch with me by email at; Sarah.Jolly@FreemanJones.co.uk with your reference and we'll get in touch.

Thank you
Sarah
