I think you will need to source a private landlord if at all possible. When in our iva we had to pay upfront for six months and then in six month chunks thereafter ..... It was sourcing the six months that was the hardest.

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

When we were looking for a new home to rent, we were very open and honest with the property agent about our situation. We obtained a letter from our IVA company stating that we were up to date with our payments and that they had no objection to us seeking to rent the place that we wanted. The property agent spoke directly to our landlord and told them our situation and our landlord was ok with us taking the property.
The property agent still did a credit check even though they knew we would fail it. I assumed they wanted to check what we had told them against our credit record to ensure we had not told them any untruths.
Some agents are fine about the iva and others are not. Good luck with your property search.
IVA accepted 18 March 2011, we have paid our final contribution on 1 June 2014.
