Hi all,

The misconception that we do not charge any fees for IVAs is not down to us. We clearly state this to all of our clients at several stages throughout the process, it is on our website (http://www.payplan.com/what-is-an-iva.php) and in literature that is sent to clients. We do all that we can to make sure that anyone considering an IVA with us know all of the details, including the fee structure.
Many Thanks
Gemma

Hi

Agreed, I think the problem is with the banks referring people directly to Payplan and probably stating incorrectly that it is a free service

All the best and remember where we are for any further advice/reassurance or just a friendly chat. We're all on the journey at different stages.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hello again, As I said before, we did a lot of research earlier in the week and on Wednesday night we decided to go with Vincent Bond. the interesting thing is that yesterday (Friday), Payplan phoned me to take things further with them. I explained that we had concidered our optioned and decided to go with Vincent Bond. I also explained that it was nothing against payplan and more of a gut feeling. I also pointed out that the service appeared to be quicker with Vincent Bond, for example I was told the paperwork would be in the post on monday by first class, its now Saturday and its not here yet. The paperwork was done online with Vincent Bond. The real concerning thing was that payplan told me they had never heard of Vincent Bond and that we shouldnt have signed anything yet. Can someone please just confirm with me that Vincent Bond are indeed a legitimate organisation for IVA's. Has anybody else used them? Thanks.

Hi Grayson,

Welcome to the forum.

I for 2 years previous had a DMP with payplan, and have now started the IVA process. I originally spoke with Vincent bond and signed up with them. They were very quick in sending through the paper work and collated my paper work really quick. At the time of calling VB. I also spoke with Tina from Melanie Giles, but as VB had sent through the paperwork first I went with them. However, after coming on the forum, and reading the posts and looking at the reviews on IVA.com I asked Vincent Bond if they could refer me to Melanie's Giles as IP. They did this with no problem. The forwarded my paper work to Melanie's Giles team and I have now just sent my draft proposal back.

Vincent Bond have a host of IP's to chose from, I have found my experience with them really professional and helpful, they made me feel comfortable. As did Melanie's team. I feel I am with the right people, and both VB and Mel's have made me feel like a person and not just a number.

I hope the above has helped a little, and good luck on your journey.
Regards
Charlygirl

Hi Grayson, it is not for us to actively promote any particular firm, though we do recount our own experiences and thoughts. However, Vincent Bond are very well respected and will go through everything with you fairly and sympathetically.

As mentioned above they, along with a few others often mentioned on this foru, treat you as people and not a means to an end. I have my own issues with Payplan, but that is not to say they aren't a good company. They have thousands of happy clients -- just not my cup of tea.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Vincent Bond, or Melanie Giles.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Well its been a stressfull few weeks but today was D day and the creditors meeting took place this morning. The good news is that our IVA application has been approved with just a couple of minor modifications. Part of us are relieved and happy that we have got to this stage, but there is also a part of us that knows 5 years is a long time and that we are only just starting a very long journey. Its a bit early just now to be saying we can see light at the end of the tunnel, but at least now we have the hope and knowledge that the light will appear but its currently a distant glimmer:-)
