Hi Laurad7418. As long as you are funding the bingo from your allowances and not using monies due to the IVA there is no problem with the odd flutter. But do try not to let it get out of hand or use money intended for other things.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
If you have not been running up extra debt and have not been using funds that are earmarked for your creditors then I seriously doubt it. It may not be the brightest way of spending your disposable income, and could be seen as money that you may have been able to pay into your IVA, but it is ultimately your chogfice. Choices do have consequences though!
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
As the other posters have said, as long as the money you are spending on the bingo does not affect your IVA then there's no problem. If you were to win a substantial amount (normally over £500) you would have to declare it.
Hi Laura. 2 types of people gamble. One's who treat it as fun and keep within their limits, the other is a more compulsive nature and chase their losses and get themselves into trouble. As long as your temperament for any sort of gambling is sound, Bingo, horses ect can bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of people. Just please dont think of it as a way to get out of debt..It should be treated purely as fun with money you can afford to lose. I used to gamble and sort help with local gamblers annonymous meetings. Which thankfully addressed the problem that I had at the time.
