That’s what I am talking about Phil. Bringing new ideas into this business to benefit both parties. As Melanie said that there are some companies that are generating from foreign locations. Viki; very good question; we have organisations that sell marketing leads and if you have heard the term “demographics”; this helps us a lot to choose our target audience. Not to mention, I am a Marketing Communications graduate and have hands on experience in generating leads and know some good official sources to buy UK official demographics database. It would never be a cold calling, as kallis said; calling a millionaire to ask if he is in serious debt and needs IVA practitioner to put his case forward. You gotta be joking. Well, because this site is open to everybody that’s why I can’t reveal my business secrets and plans but there is a business model in place and is not being handled by time wasters. But just a quick one to what kallis thinks about foreign call centres; if u do a bit of research about them kallis or if u make USA a role model which most of us do; we are successfully running these campaigns there. When I say successfully it means ROI is superb. And just not that (skippy’s post) if u don’t like foreign call centres or if u don’t understand them (well, don’t want to understand them) u might change your telecom provider, but majority wouldn’t. Would u seriously leave HSBC because it has call centres abroad? I don’t think so. But if you do than why did you join THE WORLDS LOCAL bank at the first place. Or lets say; would you leave a bank who is providing you £5000 overdraft limit and has call centres abroad? No chance. I do agree with you guys about cold calling but it’s only those non- serious companies who wants to make profit out of nothing. Like last week, one of friend, who himself is a mortgage advisor got a call if he wanted to buy a house on mortgage. Funny; isn’t? Figures have shown that natives moan about foreign call centres invading UK culture but they don’t change their suppliers (banks, telecomm etc) because of long contracts and all sorts of hassles. Otherwise banking and telecom industry would’ve brought call centres back to UK long time ago and India wasn’t contributing 60% or more to London’s economy. Anyways it a long discussion but I am very pleased that I have triggered some healthy discussion and there are users on this site who are very keen to be a part of it. But criticism/ comments should always be constructive and based on logical reasoning and research.

Many Thanks,
Nauman Awan

Kallis,

Could you please elaborate on comments in commas? I seriously didn't get your point.

It's just that often we get spammers posting on here who appear to be genuine, "but are mostly trying to make money out of others peoples misery".

Cheers
Nauman

Nauman

OK good luck to you in setting up your IVA business, I think in terms of being a lead generator you probably have some very good ideas and know your subject on this, but in terms of actually running an IVA company from an overseas call centre, I am doubtful that this is a good way to proceed.

IVAs are far more complex than a single financial product like a mortgage, bank account or insurance contract. An IVA impinges on one of the most basic aspects of life, how to budget successfully and many IVA applicants are in this situation because that didn't work for them in the past. Prospective clients will want to be reassured that the IVA provider can understand every aspect of their situation. Even a basic 5-year repayment plan for a debtor with a straight job is not that simple. The debtor needs to produce a budget that reflects his living costs, and will feel reassured by dealing with someone who understands the British way of life and what people spend their money on here. I don't wish to sound xenophobic but no doubt in Pakistan life is lived completely differently. Can a call centre operator with that background be as suitable as a UK resident adviser in advising people on how to run the financial aspects of their lives ?
